Interview with plash / Azure ^ Nothing

Cremax/Nothing

1. Can you tell us about you and your group?

Am a member of the Azure demogroup situated in Ottawa, Canada. Also I help out a group called Nothing. Nothing is a large collabortation between many students on the Internet.

2. What do you think about the progress nowadays in the demoscene?

Windows Demo Rock! Although underground the scene will remain.

3. Do you think 3D is making a better scene or boring one?

3D rocks. But it's the creative and tasteful use of artwork and media that makes a demo not particularly the technical feats achieved.

4. What do you think about making demos under windows?

I am a firm believer in Windows demos. We must continue to learn new technology just like everyone one else in the high tech arena.

5. What platform you think supports the demoscene better? Do you think DOS will survive?

I am a fan of SGI machines and Windows NT. Windows NT will survive.

6. What you think about hardware "support" on demos?

Do what you must to achieve your artistic effect. Although remember that you are limiting your target audience.

7. Which is/was your favourite party (if you attended one)?

NAID'96. Just because it's the only demo party I have ever gone to.

8. What is your favourite demo?

PatchWork by Intra. Released at NAID'96.

9. Would you want to contribute to the demoscene with anything?

What the #%#@ does this question mean?!?

10. What do you think about diskmags?

Never got one.

11. Are diskmags still necessary?

I am not the one to ask.

12. What do you think about other media like irc, newsgroups, online-mags?

What you find useful is what is important. I personally use newsgroups and online resourses alot. IRC I find is a waste of time usually. If I am going to talk to someone I usually like to do it in person, not through a digital and restrictive medium.

13. What groups do you consider "well-known" and in some way contributed to the scene?

Complex kick ass!!!!!!! Cause their demos are awe inspiring.

14. When do you think to release a new demo from your group? (we would like to know :)

Probably never.

15. One last question, what are your favourite music bands? ;)

Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Chemical Brothers, NIN, Underworld.
