Interview with Action / Virtual Illusion

Cremax/Nothing

1. Can you tell us about you and your group?

Hehe.. my group is the COOLEST around!! We were born in 993-994 ad in Kiev, Ukraine.. founders me (Action) and Keeper (now left scene). Now we have two members only, me as coder and VanaPoo as best musician.

2. What do you think about the progress nowadays in the demoscene?

Oh, the demoscene is too progressive, I say. More new stuff, effects.. more new groups.

3. Do you think 3D is making a better scene or boring one?

I love 3d too much.. but 3d is very different.. really good 3d isn't boring!

4. What do you think about making demos under windows?

Oh, it's really fun.. a long time ago, I thought it was impossible, but after seeing Nature/Vertigo I was impressed. Now I think it's the perspective direction of demoscene.

5. What platform you think supports the demoscene better? Do you think DOS will survive?

Yes, DOS 4ever!

6. What you think about hardware "support" on demos?

Huh.. it gives real performance, but if you don't have a supported device, it's so weird.. However I have to rephrase my friend, Hax: "I bought a 586 not for writing demos for 386."

7. Which is/was your favourite party (if you attended one)?

I attended only one party, Enlight party in Saint Petersbourg, Russia. But I imagine, Assembly, The Gathering, The Party - greatest ones.

8. What is your favourite demo?

Second Reality. Really I have more favourite demos.

9. Would you want to contribute to the demoscene with anything?

With Nothing ;)))) Really with more.. my favourites are Orange, Tpolm, Fugde and more..

10. What do you think about diskmags?

Ah.. it's a very cool thing I say! It's very informative. When I didn't have INet, I didn't stop reading Imphobia, Scenial!

11. Are diskmags still necessary?

Yes, fully necessary.

12. What do you think about other media like irc, newsgroups, online-mags?

Hehe, it's really fun! I have got more friends on IRC! .. News? Hmm, is too slow.. I love realtime more.

13. What groups do you consider "well-known" and in some way contributed to the scene?

Well-known, it's more for count.. old elite groups FC, Triton, Cascada, Dust.. etc

14. When do you think to release a new demo from your group? (we would like to know :)

Hehe.. soon. I think for Asm98 and at local parties (if any) and, of course, for Wired98 with Nothing staff.

15. One last question, what are your favourite music bands? ;)

More to count: trance projects, love ambient too much, breakbeat, jungle... astral projection, carebean cyber.. more ;)
